Water Reminder+ reads your activity data (steps, workouts, active energy) to provide smarter hydration recommendations. It also writes your water intake to Apple Health so it appears in your health dashboard. We never share your data.
Caffeine is a mild diuretic, meaning it can increase fluid loss. When you log coffee, tea, or energy drinks, the app factors in their reduced hydration value and may increase reminder frequency if you've had a lot of caffeine.

No. All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is sent to external servers. Your privacy is protected by design.
Go to Settings > Reminders. You can choose between Smart mode (adaptive) or Fixed mode with intervals of 15 minutes to 2 hours.
Make sure notifications are enabled in Settings > Reminders, and that Water Reminder+ has notification permission in your iPhone's Settings > Notifications. Also check that your wake/sleep times are set correctly.
